It includes news and regulatory updates from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and more.

Regulatory Interpretations
Louisiana’s nursing facilities are highly regulated by local, state and federal agencies. Medicare and Medicaid regulations are continually evolving and changing. LNHA employs a legal and policy director to keep members well-informed and well-equipped to deal with the burdens of such heavy regulation.
Understanding the Profession
An integral part of LNHA is fostering an understanding of long term care with the public through special programs, media relations and advertising campaigns. LNHA employs a full-time communications director to facilitate the flow of information to the media and the membership and to assist members with their public relations activities.
Group Purchasing and Other Programs
LNHA members have the option to receive professional and general liability coverage through the LNHA Liability Trust, and workers’ compensation insurance coverage through the Louisiana Health Care Self-Insurance Fund for Workers’ Compensation. Members also enjoy discounts and buying power on quality goods and services from top vendors through the LNHA Service Corporation. LNHA is constantly searching for and improving the services offered to members.
National Affiliate Membership
Facility members automatically become a member of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (ACHA/NCAL) with all the benefits which include access to the AHCA/NCAL resources. (AHCA/NCAL serves as the national voice of the long term care profession.) These resources include training materials, regulatory updates and web-based tools that allow facilities to benchmark person metrics to those of their peers.
