Louisiana Long Term Care Foundation

The Louisiana Long Term Care Foundation (LLTCF) makes dreams a reality for the dedicated staff who provide direct care and service in long term care settings. The Foundation’s main function is to encourage LNHA member nursing staff of high academic and care-giving caliber to continue to pursue a career in long term care by granting academic scholarships.

This year, in addition to granting 10 scholarships to those enrolled in nursing school, LLTCF also offered scholarships to attend an online Gero Nurse Prep course through the University of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Nursing. This course is a 10-module learning program that prepares registered nurses to pass the gerontological certification exam by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This certification is a triple-win for nurses, administrators and residents. For more information on these scholarship opportunities, visit www.lnha.org/lltcf.

How You Can Help

  • Memorials – celebrate the memory of a special person who has passed away. When you make a memorial gift, the LLTCF will send an acknowledgment to your honoree or honoree’s family, informing them of your kindness and generosity.
  • Donations – consider a contribution to the LLTCF to help us continue granting scholarships to deserving applicants. It’s a great way to give back to your community and to invest in the long term care profession.
  • Raffle – participating in the LLTCF yearly raffle at the LNHA Convention in September greatly helps to fund scholarships for the year.
